Ask me anything. Here’s a quick breakdown on the 2018 Buick Encore I have as a rental:
-I hate it
-My girlfriend hates it
-Nothing about it really feels premium. Some leather here and there, but nothing that would make it worth getting over the Trax, which is $6k CAD less
-8.7 litres per 100 kilometers on the highway is horribly disappointing, considering that the V6 Impala I had last time got better mileage
-The top heaviness plus sharp turns means carsickness is a very real risk
Overall, do not recommend. Even though I’m paying $17.95 a day, I still feel like I’m paying too much.

Wow I thought most rental car companies required you to be at least 65 to rent one of those

It was that or a pickup truck. Somehow I ended up on the wrong end of this deal.

*excluding China, where you’re the only person over 21 to drive one

I owned a Buick when I was in high school. A malaise one at that. It was... a car.

It’s a rebadged Opel. Which is not a luxury car. And yes, mostly driven by those with above average life experience, to put it gently.

Hey! How’s life? Do you feel like drinking prune juice and that young people are what’s wrong with Canada when driving it?

You know, I really don’t hate the way these things look. That being said, I wouldn’t drive one even if it was given to me for free.

Hey now, my first two cars were Buicks!!
Well, the first one was given to me by my brother after he was involved in a minor accident and didn’t want to pay to fix it. I bought junkyard parts and fixed it myself.
The second one was a 1989 Riviera that at 18 seemed really cool because of that awesome touch-screen dash! Well, there again I was kinda talked into it because a family friend that owned a car lot offered it to me for what he had given the original owner for it as a trade-in.
[This is where I would’ve inserted a picture of the sweet digital, touch-screen dash if kinja wasn’t kinjaing so hard right now.]
Basically, my first two cars were Buicks more due to being either free or much cheaper than anything else I could’ve bought at the time than any other factor.

I’d be more impressed (? Maybe not the right word...) if you were 23 and OWNED a Buick...

FWIW I drove a 1968 Electra 225 in high school. It had a 430 cubic inch engine and got 12 mpg.

I seen teenagers drive their grandma’s Buick all the time out here.
Intended new car ownership, you may have a point.

Life is rough, but I only have to live in Regina for sixteen more weeks, so there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

Maybe a Regal GS. Other than that, no dice.

I owned a Buick at 19, though said Buick was a 1963 Riviera that I was trying to restore.
